ee-eye, ee-eye oh
And on that farm She had a duck, ee-eye, ee-eye oh....
Sometimes I feel like we live on that farm, minus the ducks ! ;-)
We are fortunate that we live on a decent sized rural block, and just as well we do ! LOL
If you haven't met our assortment of pets yet, you can do so by reading this post.
Over the weekend, I volunteered to look after my friend's two dogs, as she was going to a party, and would be staying overnight and didn't want to leave her much loved dogs on their own for all those hours.
I thought hey what's another two dogs !!;-)
They actually all got on beautifully together, once the initial pecking order was sorted out between them.
I've always wanted a Tri coloured Cavalier, and I did have naughty thoughts about not giving him back ! ;-)
It was cute watching them all chasing each other around having fun, even when they came face to face (through the fencing) with Black Cloud the bunny. I can't put into words how lovely it was having their company for the weekend ! :)
I will share some pic
s of random photos I took of them. My husband managed to get some 'proper' shots of them all :)Joey and Crystal, not sure if Joey was squinting because of the flash, or doing what he does best... sleeping ;-)
Austin and Karma our cat checking each other out.

The sweet Crystal ( she's just so cuteee!) Crystal is a pedigree Japanese Chin.
This is Crystal and Austin's owner/breeder's website

Austin in our trailer dreaming of one day becoming a farm dog ! ;-)

On the Sunday after my friend picked up Austin and Crystal , we decided it was time to buy another bird cage for our pair of love birds. They have been living in a old avery for the last couple of years. I have found their old Avery has been very hard to keep clean, and because I have a back problem, I've been desperately wanting a cage that is more mobile to wheel around, and easier to maintain. So we finally found one that was just ideal ! We always try to buy our pet products from this petwares shop in Mount Barker SA , because they don't sell dogs and cats , but provide customers instead with an information board with registered breeders details, and a big
stand out the front promoting a local dog shelter in Hahndorf SA (A big kudos to them too!) :)Their new home is a better set up as I can watch and listen to them throughout the day now:)
They appear to be contented enough ! :)
Our cockatiel's cage is next to theirs, not
that she wants anything to do with the love birds. She is a total snob LOLCinnamon does get to fly freely around our house under supervision every few days, so as to experience some freedom outside of her cage. She also has regular showers with my husband (she enjoys sitting on the shower screen and perving on him ) ;-)
She's probably the cleanest cockatiel in South Australia ! ;-)
Have I told you guys yet about the canary I am getting in a couple months ?? ;-)
I will do a post and photo when I get her/him. I am getting it from a breeder that lives in our street.
*These photos are not to be used without my written permission. Thankyou.

This is simply amazing to see that you have so many animals in the house.
ReplyDeleteIs cavalier a specie of dog?
I saw cockatiel and I am already missing mine. (I am travelling overseas at the moment)
Jules,
ReplyDeleteI can't thank you and Michael enough for baby sitting my precious kids while I was out Saturday night. It was very, very appreciated- and put my mind at ease knowing that they had settled in so quickly before I left, and also knowing that they were in wonderful hands.
I think they enjoyed their "sleep over"!
Kimberley xx
Fantastic pictures of your menagerie. I love to watch dogs sort out their pecking order. What fun!
ReplyDeleteOne day a few years ago I went for a walk down our driveway to check our letter box. I had a child in a pushchair and was followed by:
ReplyDelete- 2 cats
- 1 goat
- 2 dogs
- 5 puppies
- and my Lorikeet who flew along above us.
Ive never forgotten being highly amused :)
Hi Jules...The dogs are beautiful....I went from big dogs to little ones, I find the smaller dogs are a lot more loyal and funny to watch with their little antics....
ReplyDeleteWith having kids we end up with a heinz variety of animals ourselves...Last adventure was chickens but that didn`t work out too well as the dogs decided on it`s destiny...
