It's nothing flash, and it's fairly plain, but it's ours, and it has a decent sized back yard for all our pets to play in !!!!
We are so blessed to have found a house so close to the beach, and a lovely river in Goolwa SA !!
It needs a lot of modernizing and some renovations done to it, but we either need to win lotto, or just keep putting all our spare pennies into the money box for the next few years lol
We initially used up a fair bit of our savings by erecting a back fence, putting up a side gate, installing a front screen door and split system air conditioning (because it is a 80's fibro house (not asbestos) and it gets quite hot inside of it), and other bits and pieces as you do when you first move into a new place :)
In the meantime I am brightening up our home by buying inexpensive beach theme trinkets, and other household/garden items to give our place some personality and life ! :)
I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite non pet 'objects' ;-)
Hope they put a smile on your face too! :)
At the moment we have horrible looking toilet floor tiles (same as bathroom/laundry and kitchen ones), just ignore that part of the photo lol Nothing like some dolphins swimming around while taking some time out hey! ;-)
Ok moving right along...... My quirky figured Beach Girls being stalked by my shark lol
My little cute flower pot fairy.
Our new second hand book shelf which I scored for $15 locally! :)
A little wooden boat that my husband bought recently to put onto our new bookshelf. I grew up with boats so it means something to me.
Our friends Adam and Kelly gave us this beautiful star fish paper weight (Thankyou!!), which I have put on one of the shelves in our bookshelf.
Joey with Mini Joey. A talented lady on a dog forum I am on made it for me :)
I've had this ladder for years. We were never allowed to put it up in our last house we rented :( My darling husband finally painted it for me, and put it up! And I just love it ! :)
Ignore the kitchen tiles, they will get replaced one day! lol
I'm still working on my cacti/succulent display. When I was a little girl, my parent's had a fairly large outdoor cacti garden, and I was always very intrigued by it. I always said I was going have one one day!
Finally at the age of 43, I have started it !, even if it is just part of a old baker's stand LOL
We repainted the stand, and I have painted up a few pots in some not so perfect designs ;-)
I'm hoping to add to it over time. It has another shelf at the bottom of it.
We bought these wooden beach thong fish hooks recently from a local shop in Goolwa. We have them on the back of our bathroom door.
I bought this from a florist shop in Strathalbyn SA. As soon as I saw it I had to have it ! It hangs on a wall in our bathroom.
Our cute fishy shower curtain ;-)
I bought this one and a matching bathroom sign.
My Husband bought this lovely beach themed black board for me for Christmas! I just love it!
Every time we have visitors over, I always chalk up a welcome message with their names on it :)
It's on a kitchen pantry cupboard at the moment. I am hoping to eventually find a white louver door kitchen pantry cupboard.

We bought this seahorse decorative piece from a local shop here to put on to the front of our house. Our house has yet to be repainted, so in the meantime it needs something to give it a bit of personality :)
I bought this cat sign for my husband for Christmas. Well it really was for our cats LOL
We either keep our cats inside, or in an outdoor cat run. So the sign is important when we have people over ! ;-)
I have turned one of our less than perfect shaped trees into a trinket tree. Yes I am a bit quirky in nature if you haven't guessed that already! LOL
I am adding different trinkets to each of the branches. I have mostly outdoor candle holders on them, and a mini rotunda with some some little fairies and blue wren bird statues sitting in it. I must take a photo of them too !
My colourful Gecko sitting quietly in my trinket tree, watching out for stray cats and snakes LOL
Note the fish tank by the tv. I love my fish and find them very therapeutic ! :)
I am wanting to put up some white photo frames on our feature wall with photos we have taken of beach scenes. A person I know from a forum I am on who is a photographer, has given us as a house welcoming present some beach prints she has taken and entered competitions with, to have framed.
There are so many other wonderful things I want to share with you all that we have bought, or be given, but I will add them at a later date :)

I love our little house too Jules. Bit by bit we'll make it ours - it's the journey babe, not the destination. xxx Love you.

ReplyDeleteYour house is getting lovely each and every day! I love all the beachy things you have in it! I bet it feels like a permanent holiday house! :D I will come check it out next weekend, if thats ok with you :D The girls are itching to meet you and the clan! :D
@Carla
ReplyDeleteThanks Carla ! :)
Looking fwd to seeing you again, and the girls! Just be aware we have those horrible burr weed things here (they stick into their hair grrr), so if that's an issue, they can all run around inside the house instead LOL
